Proposal Submission Checklist
Being organized is one of the important steps you can take to ensure a successful proposal. Use the following checklist to help:
Consider the timeline outlined below as the minimum amount of time needed for each step. Allowing even more time per step allows for a better review and more feedback on your proposal. 4+ Weeks Prior to Deadline:
- PI provides notice of submission via email ([email protected])
- Email should contain PI/Co-PI names and link to RFP or RFP attached
- PI provides Proposal Information Form to include draft budget and subaward information
3 Weeks Prior to Deadline:
- PI provides draft budget to be prepared in SIMSBudgets.
2 Weeks Prior to Deadline:
- Budget is finalized
- Budget Justification is completed
- IAF has begun routing with finalized budget and budget justification
- Cost Share approvals are provided
- Subaward sends full proposal documents
1 Week Prior to Deadline:
- PI ensures IAF is completed and routed through all approval paths
5 Business Days Prior:
- Final documents have been provided to Research/Financial Office and OSP/AOR review
- PI/Unit Submitting has provided that proposal is correct and provides confirmation proposal is ready for submission
- Any revisions, corrections, etc. from AOR review are started if needed.
3 Business Days Prior:
- Proposal is in final format with all required internal approvals
- OSP submits proposal to sponsor
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
