New Requests for Proposals

Simons Foundation invites applications for targeted grants in mathematics and physical sciences

The Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MPS) division invites applications for its Targeted Grants in MPS program. The program is intended to support high-risk theoretical mathematics, physics, and computer science projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a case-by-case basis. The program provides flexible funding for up to five years, with the funding level and duration flexible and based on the type of support requested in the proposal. There is no recommended or assumed funding level for this program.

Spotlight on Humanities in Higher Education

This program supports the exploration and development of small projects that would benefit underserved populations through the teaching and study of the humanities at small and medium-sized colleges and universities.

National Endowment for the Humanities - Summer Stipends

The purpose of the Summer Stipends program is to stimulate new research and publication in the humanities. Summer Stipends support continuous, full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two consecutive months. NEH funds may support recipients’ compensation, travel, and other costs related to the proposed scholarly research.

Humanities Connections

This program seeks to expand the role of the humanities in undergraduate education at two- and four-year institutions by encouraging partnerships between humanities faculty and their counterparts in other areas of study.

Dialogues on the Experience of War

This program supports the study and discussion of important humanities sources about war and military service, in the belief that these sources can help U.S. military veterans and others think more deeply about the issues that they raise.

Cultural and Community Resilience

The Cultural and Community Resilience program supports community-based efforts to mitigate climate change and COVID-19 pandemic impacts, safeguard cultural resources, and foster cultural resilience through identifying, documenting, and/or collecting cultural heritage and community experience. The program prioritizes projects from disadvantaged communities in the United States or its jurisdictions, and NEH encourages applications that employ inclusive methodologies.

Humanities Initiatives

Humanities Initiatives programs strengthen the teaching and study of the humanities at institutions of higher education by developing new or enhancing existing programs, resources (including those in digital format), or courses that explore, interpret, and preserve the diversity of human cultures, ideas, and practices, past and present.
