Biography
As assistant vice president, executive director for academic services assessment, Penny provides leadership and support for projects and initiatives that benefit students enrolled at the Commonwealth campuses. She collaborates on behalf of the campuses with colleagues in the offices of undergraduate education, undergraduate admissions, registrar, student aid, division of undergraduate studies, new student orientation, prior learning assessment, global programs, general counsel and planning and institutional research.
In the Office of the Vice President, Penny compiles and distributes data in support of strategic initiatives, administers scholarships funded through OVPCC, coordinates the development of articulation and affiliation agreements with external colleges and universities, and manages the University College records functions and related compliance programs.
Penny represents the Commonwealth Campuses on several University committees including the project LionPath steering committee, the general education assessment committee, and the plan, build, run technology initiative. She also stewards the development and implementation of the course substitution and request system for the University.
Before joining the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth campuses, Penny worked for over 10 years as the senior coordinator for the Division of Undergraduate Studies at Penn State Harrisburg and held positions related to academic services and institutional advancement at Penn State Altoona, Schuylkill, University Park, the College of Medicine and Harrisburg Area Community College.
