Dr. John D. Hoh has been involved in managing IT for more than two decades. His current role, senior director of IT for the Commonwealth Campuses, revolves around working with the campuses on their strategic plans for IT. Dr. Hoh’s expertise includes: strategic thinking, leadership, unified communications, learning spaces, UCIF, library/IT collaborations, vendor relationships, and recruiting IT talent.

He has served as a director at a number of colleges and universities including Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. In addition to his role with OVPCC, he provides leadership for ITS at the Harrisburg campus (over 5,000 students). Dr. Hoh has been instrumental in the revamping of the IT presence in the learning spaces at Harrisburg. The Harrisburg campus is 100 percent technology enhanced in their classroom and event spaces.

Dr. Hoh has an undergraduate degree in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in computer science from the University of New Haven and a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

He is very active in promoting IT leadership within Penn State as a past board member of the IT Leadership Council and has taught a graduate-level course in "Emerging Learning Technologies." His team recently won a Penn State Innovation Award for their efforts in designing and implementing collaborative classrooms.
